What Is Home Care?

Home Care is in-home care typically for elderly clients who would like to age in place at home and individuals who are disabled and need extra care. Home Care services include performing activities of daily living with clients and instrumental activities of daily living including…

  • Transferring
  • Meal prep
  • Companionship
  • Dressing
  • Toileting
  • Bathing
  • Errands
Home Care employees must have a PSS (Personal Support Specialist) Certificate, however a CNA or CRMA with current certification are also qualified for Home Care.

Becoming A PSS

AllMed Home Care employees are required to acquire a PSS Certificate (Personal Support Specialist) within six months of being hired. CNAs (Certified Nursing Assistants) and a CRMAs (Certified Residential Medication Aides) with current certification are also eligible to provide Home Care.

If not already certified, a PSS certificate class will be set up for each employee within the first month and AllMed will assist with 2/3 of the minimal cost and the remainder can be paid for through weekly pay deductions of $10.

PSS training is designed to help employees perform activities of daily living with clients and instrumental activities of daily living (see list of examples to the left).
